John brings 34 years of planning experience to FSG. John started with Federal Home Life Insurance in 1984, servicing and providing help to family farmers and small business owners. From 1988 to 2008, John received national recognition with New York Life. In addition to planning experience, John has also created and co-owned a successful employee benefit service. In 2008, John retired from New York Life with the designation of Senior NYLIC and joined FSG, LLC.
He advises on the methods of funding estate equalization plans, fixed asset protection and wealth transfer strategies, with a focus on Agricultural and Manufacturing business owners. He has written articles using life insurance as one method of purchasing farmland.
Working with his daughter, Sydney Davenport, and Heckaman Insurance Agency providing agricultural and commercial insurance service to their clients located in Indiana and Illinois. John has an M.B.A from Butler University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University. John is a graduate of the Indiana Agricultural Banking School, has a basic farm certification with Nationwide and holds a CLTC designation for long term care insurance planning.
John, his wife Kelly and their three children enjoy raising beef cattle in West Central Indiana.
